Crazed heart, crazed eyes and a crazed soul the confused stallion raced around the small circle paddock, people teasing him, poking him with sticks and throwing empty soda cans at him, like he was trash, like he had no purpose of living.
It was a rodeo day, and rodeo auctions were the worst, young kids like to experiment on how far they can go with a horse or cowboys look a the craziest horses there like a bronc and bet on them and sell them to bronc industries and yet, most horses who are not even looked at are sent to slaughter.
Next to Hollywood's paddock was a paddock filled with foals, they were all scruffy and abused with dry blood on their once nice coats. Hollywood snorted and stopped racing around the circle enclosure for a moment and watched these foals, they were lifeless, most of them stood with cow legs and poor posture.
One stood alone on one side of the paddock, it had a large dip in it's back and it's bones were easily spotted. It barley even had any hooves they had been worn out so much. Just as Hollywood looked back to the humans around his corral a man threw a can at the wild brute hitting him in the head. Hollywood charged at where the cowboy stood on the fence and scared him so much he fell from he fence and scrambled to his feet and ran away. [/center]

Maya had pretty much blocked out everything, but her concentration was shattered as she remembered the voice of Hollywood. She immediatly turned, seeing people shrouding his corral and when she saw them throwing things at him, she went into a blaze of fury. She bolted towards the people, her eyes dull and filled with flames. "Back away from him, you confounded idiots!" She looked to Hollywood, frowning. "I'm sorry boy, I truly am. I'll stay around here to make sure the creeps near you don't harm you at all." Maya's voice was calm to Hollywood. She wasn't frightened of him at all. She sighed, glaring at the people.

Seeing Maya was actually helping him, a human was really being nice to him, and he had to trust her a little bit for she had helped him by getting those stupid people away from his paddock. A man walked in, one of the auctioneers, he had know clue the stallion was a wild mustang, but thought he was just another abused soul. Hollywood reared and whinnied in anger toward the man, the man nearly ran out of the paddock. He slowly walked toward Hollywood with a hand out"It's okay boy, i just need to get this halter on you so you can get in the auction ring" He spoke sternly trying to grab onto Hollywood's mane. Hollywood nearly ran through the fence, but lucky for the people on the other side of it, it was a strong fence and as punishment the electric fence shocked him and he had been cut by a nail sticking out of it.
His ears tightened more than they ever had before, his nostrils flared paper thin and his whites flashed as the sun gleamed down on him. Hollywood stood still and the man was able to grab a grip on his neck but Hollywood threw his head back and reared, the man let go and ran out of the ring"We will just have to put him through the chute to get him in the ring" He said to the other auctioneer and Hollywood snorted crashing back to the ground. Maya glared devishly at the auctineer. She carefully observed his hands, seeing nothing within them. She looked to Hollywood, slightly staring at him. She was worried for his well being. She averted her gaze to the man. "A chute'll be a smart idea. He doesn't trust anyone, well I don't think he does." Maya glared at the man who gripped onto Hollywood's neck. This really made her p/oed. She bolted after him, "You idiot! He's suffered enough!" Worried about Hollywood, she jogged back to his paddock. She stayed there, close to his fencing.

Hollywood's ears perked noticing Maya's reaction towards the auctioneer and snorted, he slowly made his way to the fence where she stood and put his nose through the spacing in the fence and sniffed her. Only moments later the auctioneer returned, looking at Maya as if she were crazy"Now you look her missy, that horse is not a friendly creature like most horses, he should be sold for meat for all i care, but i am willing to allow that viol creature into the auction ring for a chance at being a stable horse, and if the mustang don't like it, than he can deal with being someones supper" He spoke sternly as the other auctioneers attached the chute to his paddock and the auction ring.
Hollywood pulled his ears back and turned to look at the gate creaking open slowly as a man tried to stay unnoticed by the wild mustang, Hollywood bolted forward forcing the gate to open and slamming the guy opening it into the chute gate. Hollywood raced into the arena and began to run circles around it, the crowd oohing and awing at the sight of the marvelous stallion"starting at $600 for this wild mustang!" The announcer announced.[/i]

Maya's eyes were now blazing as he spoke, "Hollywood, here, is not meant to be sold for meat! Now you listen here, sir. You've no right to go about saying such a thing. He has more potential than anyone here, and if you're too thick headed to notice such a beautiful beast, then you're unfit to even be an auctioneer! Hollywood deserves to be ridden, and if someone puts him up for slaughter, they shall deal with me. Got it?!"
Immediatly, her flaming desire to knock this guy out had turned towards Hollywood. She was nervous, and suddenly she raised offered to buy him. She didn't know what someone else would do to him, and she wasn't risking to even loose such a beautiful stallion as he. She could easily see Hollywood was restless, upset even. He had suffered enough.

Nostrils flared thinner and thinner as the brute became more and more stressed with the crowd, many people bet on him, probably as a bronc for he had not shown anything else but the inner bronc he was. "Sold to the young lady" The announcer and announced jestering his hand toward Maya, the other people who had bet in the crowd all began to boo at the announcer who was now walking toward Maya"I only gave him to you because i saw how much you cared for him, if i let such a beautiful mustang go to one of those bronc buyers i would never forgive myself" He said to Maya and walked away than turned back toward her"He seems to have a little trust in you, think you can get him out of the ring?" He asked her handing her a rope halter and a lead rope"Here, this will get you started with his equipment".[/i]

Maya was completly overcome with happiness. She grinned, ignoring everyone that booed at her. She looked over to the announcer and smirked. "Thank you. He'll be safe with me. I assure you of that. I'll try my best in getting him out. Thanks again." She grinned and took the lead and halter. She looked to Hollywood and slowly opened the gate. She looked to the stressed out stallion and shook her head. She glared at the people, "Shh!" Her attention then averted to Hollywood. She slowly approached him, "Easy boy, easy. It's only me, ignore the others, they don't understand at all." Her voice was calm and she stared at Hollywood, wondering if he would only come to her to be rid of the shouting onlookers. She didn't seem afraid of him at all, in fact, she was absolutly serene as he raged on.

The man smiled"Good luck with him" He said now watching as the girl entered the ring, thinking she must have been crazy or something. Hollywood stopped in his track and pawed at the ground, his whites flashing toward the people in the stands, and then looking to Maya he snorted and walked slowly toward her, his ears plastered back and lips stretched out toward her, eying the halter, he knew he had to get out at some time, and he would not listen to any others so he might as well so with this human. His ears slowly perked as he lipped at her hand, his neck stretched out far while his body far away from Maya.[/i]

Maya smiled as Hollywood carefully approached her. Slowly, she raised the hand he was sniffing and petted him. Her other hand, with the halter and lead, went towards him, allowing him to sniff it as well. "I promise you Hollywood, I won't hurt you at all." She was amazed that he even got this close to her. She ignored the man near the fenced-in area. She was even shocked that Hollywood trusted her somewhat.

As Maya lifted the halter he reared and charged into her left shoulder and nearly knocked her over, it was a warning, he would not allow that thing on his head weather she had to force it on or not. The auctioneer shook his head and walked away"They never learn" He spoke getting the next horse ready, the horse was calm, unlike Hollywood.
He stood in the arena, staring at Maya, nostrils flared, ears plastered back and in a stance that showed he was ready to take this human down.[/i]

Maya had grabbed her shoulder in pain as she fell to the dirt below. She winced slightly, though stood. She glared at Hollywood, she would have to deal with him the hard way. She heard what the auctioneer muttered and glared at him, "I remind you, it's not Holloween yet. Please take off that repulsive mask." She grinned, almost innocently as she now glared at Hollywood. "Fine.. Have it your way. You either stay here where multiple people can throw stuff at you, or you can come peacefully to the stables. Your choice." Slowly, she advanced towards the gate, she looked to her shoulder and sighed. She knew it would bruise. She rolled her eyes.

Snorting he watched the girl walk toward the gate and his muscules tightned and he grunted, once the gate made the smallest creek he bolted through it, running into the chute, he bucked and reared and slammed through the chute, on the other side he stood still breathing hard, nostrils flaring and ears plastered back, the people all ran away screaming like he was some savage beast that had broken out of a zoo.
Actioneers raced to him with whips and ropes, they continously snapped their whips trying to turn him back into the chute but he did not flinch an inch. But when one of the auctioneers snapped a whip on his flank he reared and freaked out due to the sudden shock to his thoughts, he snorted and sniffed where he had been whipped, it was bleeding, now he had two cuts, one from the fence and another from the whip.
One of the men through his rope around his neck when Hollywood began to charge at a guy, he was captured again and stood stiff.

Fury bubbled inside of Maya as she watched her horse get whipped and roped up. Once she saw the whip touch Hollywood's flank, enough was enough. "Leave him the hell alone! He is my horse and I don't remember saying I needed the help! Touch him again and you'll have a lawsuit against you." Her eyes were ablaze. She was dead serious. "Remove your ropes and scram!" She dared the auctioneers to even step towards him. If they did, she would maul them and even punch them. Hollywood was for her to deal with. She looked to Hollywood and approached him slowly. She frowned at him, seeing the blood trickle from his wound. She suddenly turned to the group of auctioneers. "Why do you have to make it so d**n difficult?! Have you no pride nor dignity?! He's suffered enough, yet you come to him like some crazed stampede, whipping him and roping him. He's scared enough as is! Now back off!" This was not good. Maya rarely ever swore, and now a different side was revealed. She looked to Hollywood once more. It was as if she could see what he had suffered. She approached him with glossy eyes. "Hollywood.. It's me.. You'll be alright." Slowly she began to pet him and she soon stood. A few stray tears trickled down her face. She glared at the group of men, eyes still set on fire. This was not what she wanted Hollywood to suffer with.

Snorting as his new owner charged toward the men Hollywood's head loward and his eyes also peered to the men in fury, his nostrils flaring and deep breaths expelled from his paper thin nostrils, the men talked among themselves and pulled off the ropes, Hollywood not budging.
when Maya approached Hollywood his ears lifted and his head followed he took a few back steps and relaxed his alert ears. When she turned back to the men he nudged her shoulder affectionately and back stepped watching the men in hate.
He nipped at the halter in her hand wanting to get out of this place, he could not handle to watch all of those scrawny horses in their pens starving to dead, and at the moment he was hungry too. He would follow her without a halter, he now had full trust in this girl because she seemed to be the same as him, she had allot of fury inside, and would use it if she needed to, and so would Hollywood, when they took him away from his herd some of that fury grew, and that is why he was being so stubborn lately, because he was separated from his mares. Yet he would probably never trust another human but Maya, but that would not matter.
